iModules Software, a Leeds Equity Partners portfolio company, acquires OrgSync

Acquisition creates a full life-cycle constituent engagement management platform for higher education.
Leawood, KS – March 3, 2015
. iModules Software, the leading provider of software-as-a-service constituent engagement management solutions for educational institutions, announced today the acquisition of OrgSync, the leading online provider of student community management solutions for higher education. iModules is a portfolio company of Leeds Equity Partners, LLC, the New York-based private equity firm focused exclusively on investing in the knowledge industries. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 2007, OrgSync provides a cloud-hosted, SaaS platform that provides both campus administrators and students with the tools and resources necessary to effectively manage and enrich campus life. OrgSync creates an online community for campuses that helps departments, programs, and member-based organizations centralize communication and online resources. OrgSync streamlines student and administrative processes, manages people and groups, organizes calendars, programs and events, analyzes assessments and evaluations, quantifies student involvement and success, and helps meet emerging institutional education and accreditation requirements. The underlying strength and utility of the OrgSync solution is evidenced by its rapid adoption in higher education, including by more than 450 campuses, five million users, and 80,000 clubs and organizations.

“With the addition of OrgSync’s expertise and software platform in community management, iModules is uniquely positioned as a full life-cycle constituent engagement platform — from the time a student steps on campus to well past graduation,” said Fred Weiss, President and CEO of iModules. “This acquisition provides us the unique ability to serve higher education institutions in a broader capacity and address their key challenges.

Our goal is to improve student engagement and retention, help universities meet ever increasing accreditation standards and utilize data to drive more successful fundraising activities.”

“iModules is the clear leader in online constituent engagement management and we are thrilled to join the organization. Our team is energized by the opportunity ahead to jointly pursue the numerous strategic growth opportunities across the higher education landscape,” said Eric Fortenberry, Founder, President, and CEO of OrgSync, who will continue to lead the OrgSync team.

Jacques Galante, a Managing Director at Leeds Equity, said “OrgSync and iModules have both experienced significant growth as independent organizations. This transaction will accelerate that growth as the combined companies will have a broad and differentiated portfolio of solutions that can redefine how higher education institutions engage with their constituents.”
